It’s All About The Light

Breaks in the weather seem few and far between lately but they do happen. Yesterday morning the sun managed to break through the clouds and sent a beam of light along the cliffs from Ballard Head to Old Harry and beyond. The chalk cliff shone like a beacon!

The Stables

The weather continues to make it difficult to get out and about, meaning that I have had precious little time with the camera, but I have also had my hands full with a new venture.

Purbeck Footprints has a new gallery and I am ridiculously proud of it. We have been open a month now and all seems to be going well, it is great to see my photographs hung up on a wall instead of in boxes.

For those who can make it we are in The Stables on Commercial Road, Swanage and in partership with Peverils & Chilli by the Sea. There is always plenty to see here and you would be made very welcome if you visit.

About Julian Sawyer

It is easy these days to spend hours processing shots on a computer, removing twigs or imperfections, changing colours to make the shot more pleasing or even adding something that may be missing, but I do not do that. Nature, by its very design, is perfectly imperfect and that is how I want my photographs to be. Sometimes the light is not quite right, sometimes the animal will not pose in the way I want or decides to stay hidden, that is the beauty of wildlife photography and I find it frustratingly magical.
